Week 8 & 9

Holla everyone...holla world! :) We meet again for this week.

For this week we've learnt about "SPSS" ..
My first reflection -------->

I don't know what is SPSS.. I never heard about SPSS before...

But, after attending the class..... I started to understand about SSPS...

SPSS is a software for managing data and calculating a wide variety of statistics.
So, for this week, me and my partner, have to analyze data from the survey that we've done before, about "NETIQUETTE" ... :)

We've to installed SPSS first.

SPSS Statistics has three main windows, plus a menu bar at the top.
These allow you to :
  • see your data
  • see your statistical output
  • see any programming commands you have written
Each window corresponds to a separate type of SPSS file.. :)

1. Click on icon "SPSS" that you've installed.
    and will be ----->

2. Then, click on "variable view" so that, u can see your data.
Before you can see your data, you've to enterd your question in shortform, your question type,

3. Then u click on "data view" - entrd the data that has been provided by respondents.
The data editor lets you see and manipulate your data. When you open an SPSS data file, what you see is     a working copy of your data. Changes you make to your data are not permanent until you save them (click FileSave or Save As). Data files are saved with a file type of .sav, a file type that most other software cannot work with. When you close your last Data Editor you are shutting down SPSS and you will be prompted to save all unsaved files.

4. After that, click on "analyze" to analyze your data.
Then u click descriptive statistics --> and frequencies.. :)

will be----->

Statistical results will show up in the Output Viewer.
your findings also can be seen in term of bar chart/ pie chart .. :)

So, that's all for this week... :)
~my final reflection ----->

see you again!

ALLAH is always by your side... :)

Week 6 & 7

Assalamualaikum... hai guys! :)

I do not include what I've learnt on week 5..because I'm still in the process of searching the information on my topic on week 4.. "NETIQUETTE"

So, for this week, me and my partner, Fatin Athirah, have to create a questionnaire by using Survey Monkey and Google.docs.

SURVEY MONKEY

Survey monkey??? It sounds weird, right??

Survey monkey is a web survey development company. (wikipedia)
This questionnaire tool allows users to create surveys. But for the free user, like me, the numbers of the questions that can be included in a survey are limited, only 10 questions.

When you have log on to the website, you will have this interface (as the picture above).
The steps are:

1. To create a survey, you need to have an account for survey monkey's website. As a free user, you just click on icon "Sign Up Free" , then create your own account.

2. After that, you click the button "Create Survey" to create your own survey.

3. Then, you click on create a new survey, add the title and category for your survey.

4. After that, you can add the questions for your survey.

5. You can click on the button "Question type" to choose the question type that you want.

6. You can only add 10 questions for a survey, if you sign up for free account. BUT, you can add more than 10 questions IF you pay for the account.

Finally, you can share your survey with your friends by copy and paste the web link, and posting on your Facebook wall or your Facebook group.

Survey monkey will helps you to collect the data automatically to analyse from the respondents. :)

GOOGLE DOCS

The functions of  Google docs is the same as Survey Monkey.
The steps are:

1. Just log in to your google account.

2. To create a survey, just click on "Create" button, then you click "Form" .

3. After that, you can add the title of your survey, and you can choose the question type. Same as survey monkey, right??

4. But you can create as much as questions that you want in your survey through the google docs.
10? 12? 15? It's up to you.. :)

5. You can share your survey with your friends by embed the URL on your Facebook group or on your own Facebook wall. Easy right? :)

6. The respondent's feedback will be inserted automatically in your google docs spreadsheet, so that you can analyze the data directly.

Online survey??  It is easy right??
I'm sure it is difficult for us to do the survey manually.

I'll stop for now. Till meet again. Take care yaaa... :)
Thank you for viewing. :)

weEk 4....

Assalamualaikum and selamat sejahtera... :)
Hi guys...!!

The task for this week was given by group. me and my partner, Fatin Athirah, are required to make a little bit  of research based on our chosen topic.

Firstly we work individually in finding the information about our topic.
Here, I'll explain a little bit about the information that we have obtain:

"Netiquette"

1.Meanings :

  • Combination of 'network' and 'etiquette'
  •  E-guides on social interaction and communicating electronically
  • A term that describes etiquette on the internet
  • Encompasses the etiquette of all kinds of internet communication
  • e.g : emails, forums, instant messaging

2.Function :

  • As a general set of guidelines that can keep internet communication useful and civil
3.Good netiquette :

  • Using proper grammar and spelling
  • Requesting permission for images and other intellectual right from the owner
  • Sendings your email in a plain text
  • Being polite in your responses, etc.

4.Bad netiquette :

  • Spamming
  • Typing in text language and toggle case ( lvly-lovely, dEaR)
  • Sexually explicit images or content
  • Typing in all capitals, etc

5.
-remember the human-
-adhere to the same standards of behaviour online that you follow in your real life-
-know where you are in cyberspace-
-respects other people's time and bandwith-
-make yourself look good online-
-share expert knowledge-
-help keep flame wars under control-
-respect other people's privacy-
-don't abuse your power-

(Virginia Shea)

~Netiquette is very important. Netiquette makes online communication go smoothly.
Netiquette helps keep people polite and regulate online communication.

~So remember, when you send and email, instant ot text message,
ask yourself, "am i using proper netiquette?" . The more people follow the rules of netiquette, the more people who will observe and learn online etiquette.

wEek 3..

assalamualaikum and selamat sejahtera guys.. ;)

It was already week 3 of my computer in education class. I've learnt new thing again in this class.
I need to do a little bit of research about Course Management System and Learning Management System (CMS/LMS). Then I've to explore on goggle doc.

CMS/LMS----->>what's that??

CMS/LMS is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of education courses or training programs.
At UKM, we use IFOLIO, SMPWeb to make the learning process easier.

There's a lot of advantages by using C/LMS.
The learners can go through the material any time they want and as many times as they want.

Let's move on to google doc.

Google doc is a free, Web-based office suite and data storage service offered by Google within its Google drive service. It allows users to create and edit documents online while collaborating in real-time with other users.
The steps are :

1. Sign in my google account using your gmail account. (docs.google.com)

2. Just click on the icon "CREATE"  in the red box at the left side of your lappy.

3. Choose document and you may start typing anything that you want. It's more and less have the same function like Microsoft Word doc.

4. In order to save the document, you can download your document as:
    ~PDF doc
    ~Open document format
    ~Rich text format
    ~Plain text, web page

I had choosed PDF document.

Your report is downloaded to your lappy!
DONE!

It's easy... :)

Next, I uploaded the doc in Yahoo Groups and my dropbox!
You also can share the document with your friends, as many as you want
by typing their email adress.

That's all for this week.
Thanks for spending your time to read my blog!
bye bye :)

wEek tWo..

Hi guys..! :)

It's already the second week of Computer in Education class.
For this second week, there is new thing that I've learnt.

DROPBOX!!

I never knew about the dropbox before.
so, what is dropbox??

Dropbox is a personal cloud storage service that is frequently used for file sharing and collaboration. The dropbox application is available for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux desktop operating system. There are also application for iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry devices.

I signed up for an account, as a student, I've choosed free package, and it offers me 2GB of storage. :)

I can share files via dropbox with my friends who've their own account. Files in the dropbox folder can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.

I find out that this application is really helpful and easy to be used. If you don't have an account for dropbox, create one and I'm sure you'll fall in love with it. :)

That's all from me.. thanks! :)

my first day in class

...بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم...

..Assalamualaikum wbt & salam sejahtera..

As this is my first post in my own blog, I would like to introduce myself a little bit.
My name is Siti Nur'Aqilah binti Saidi. All of you can call me Aqilah or Qilah.
I'm 20 years old. Proudly, I came from Pasir Puteh, Kelantan. Before this, I studied at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Badak, Bachok, Kelantan. I took the STPM before and Alhamdulillah I've been getting good result and gladly pursuing my study at UKM, Bangi.

Move on to my main topic for this first post for my first week in class of Computer in Education. I've learnt a lot of new things during my first day attending Computer in Education course class. First of all, I've to create my own yahoo group. I never knew about the yahoo group before even I always go to yahoo website to sign into my account. We will get updated activities with news from our course coordinator, Dr. Siti Fatimah, and the other students through this yahoo group. Next, I've to create my signature. When I'm sending a message using my email, there is an automatic signature at the bottom of my message.

Secondly, I've to create my own group at my facebook. I logged in into my own account and created my own group. Then I invited a few friends of mine to join my own group. Thirdly, I've to create my own blog. I've never had a blog before. My friends have helped and guided me to make my own blog. Now, I already have my own blog for educational purpose. We'll be giving tasks by our coordinator and we need to present the task in our own blog. So, I'm trying to write a post about my first week attending Computer in Education Class....

I guess thats all from me for now. Thanks for reading my blog. I really appreciate it..!
~SEKIAN~
